Never A Dull Moment...

explains my life with Burk! I don’t know how some things happen with him, they just do. Burk was trying to fix the lawn mower and somehow it caught on fire!! I took this picture as he was putting the fire out! I am beginning to think he did this on purpose to get a new one. If he comes back with a riding mower I will know this for sure!!!

Haircuts

The kids got haircuts today. Hunter wanted a mohawk! I told him he should have had his dad do that last week. I was not paying money for that kind of haircut!! So he settled for a trim as did Jenna. Marley's is the most noticeable! I think it looks absolutely precious on her!

Out of the Mouths...

After having a devotion with the kids this evening I was telling them that when you become a Christian you want to turn away from the bad things you do and be more Christ-like. Marley said “Like me. I am trying to turn away from bullying.” Surprised by this I asked her how that was going. She said “Sometimes good, sometimes bad.” Hunter said, “I am not good at bowling!”

Rodeo Parade

We headed downtown to watch the rodeo parade. Our first stop was Jolly Roger’s Candy Shoppe! The choices, the choices.

Since we were the first people on the street we got the best seat on the block!!

We waved at all the horse and riders as they went along. Then we heard someone yelling our names. We looked closer and it was our good friend Anna Grace!

Jenna loved the parade. She was excited by everything that came by.

She was really excited to see the baby horse!

These horses were not up for being in a parade. They did not want to turn the corner until a guy jumped off the back and got them going again. Once around the corner they headed straight to us!!! I couldn’t get any pictures. I was trying to get my kids off the curb!

Marley and Hunter’s favorite part of the parade is this next picture. They thought it was funny! In fact after the parade they wanted to drive around and look at it!

Aren’t you glad I didn’t bring my zoom lens!

Guilty

Today I have no kids. I had a dentist appointment this morning so I dropped my kids off with my dad. I am working tomorrow and in an effort to save gas they are going to stay the night with my parents and I will pick them up tomorrow evening. My friend Cammi was going to be gone this afternoon and offered her pool to me. I laid by the pool and read a book for about hour. It was a much needed break. I don’t leave my kids very often. So why then do I feel guilty when I do? I should be cleaning and getting things done that I can’t seem to accomplish with them here. But I find myself wandering around wondering what I should be doing. What will I do when all three are in school?

Jenna Speaks!

Jenna likes to talk. We don't always understand her. Well we rarely understand her! The other kids in her Sunday School class speak so much more clear. But she sounds so dang cute that we won't worry about it for awhile. At least until I can get some conversations recorded! This video is of her saying "No, Mama!" I don't like for my kids to tell me no when I tell them to do something, but when it sounds like this you can't help but say "OK, do whatever you want!"

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day we got Burk a tree for the front yard. Here is a picture of Burk and the kids with the tree. Can you tell we were on our way to the pool!?

Fathers Day

For Fathers Day we went to eat at Catfish Hole where we totally stuffed ourselves! Don't worry Rachel we ate some for you too!

Chores

I decided this summer that it was long over due to start my kids doing chores. I thought we would start easy. They would have to make their beds before we could go to the pool. After a week or so I would add something else. But the little punks have decided to sleep on top of the bed and use the small quilt that Honey (their grandmother) made them to cover up with. So when they wake up their bed is already made!! I started thinking maybe I should do that. Then I remembered I used to be able to just slide in and out of the covers. You could not even tell that I had slept in the bed. Then I married Burk! He can take a pillowcase off his pillow while he sleeps! He tosses around so much I don’t know how he keeps from throwing me out! Maybe I should make the kids make my bed!! I will let you know how that goes!! But I am sure you already know!

These Boots Are Made For Walking...or something

I told the kids to get dressed with shoes on to help me in the yard. This is how Jenna came out!

Digging to China

The kids starting digging a hole and then decided to dig to China. They told Burk when they got ready to go to bring them a coat! I placed my order for some chinese food and Hunter asked me to write my order down for him. They thought they might miss us and asked us to go with them!
